Signed to Sony France, his single “Sweet Soca Music” went Top 10 on the French sals charts and reached #2 on the Club charts and #1 on the Airplay charts for 4 weeks in August 2003. the track has to date sold over 300,000 copies.
“Sweet Soca Music” became the first ever certified Gold Record performed by an artist from Trinidad and Tobago. The track is also released in Belgium, Switzerland, Holland, Spain and Italy where it reached the top 10. It will be released in Germany, UK and USA for Summer 2005.
Born in 1975, in the little paradise island of Tobago, Stafford Samuel aka “Sugar Daddy” began his singing career at the age of 13, performing with Kiskedee and famed Jamaican artists like buju Banton, Sizzla and Cappleton. Sugar Daddy creates his own blend of Soca and Regga, with his first international his “Sweet Soca Music” becoming an instant hit in the post-Carnival 2001 radio programs in Trinidad and the Caribbean – becoming the no.1 summer song in Martinique for several months.
His first album “Indeed” is a commercial mix of Soca, Ragga, Reggae, Dub and Hip Hip and includes two features with top international artists, Miss Thing from Jamaica with a remix of “Sweet Soca Music” and Natasha from Germany with a remix of her top 10 track “It’s All Over Now” remix.
